A highly energetic and motivational business leader, entrepreneur and speaker, Steve has a passion for helping businesses and nonprofits reach their growth potential. His ability to visualize the future of accounting and assemble a highly qualified and motivated team has lead GrowthForce to become one of the nation’s largest cloud based bookkeeping, accounting and controller services.
Steve’s experience with accounting system design, technology development, and management services spans over three decades. Before opening GrowthForce, he was President of Insperity Financial Management Services division for two years. The division was created from the acquisition of a business called Virtual Growth Incorporated, which Steve founded in 1995 in New York City. Prior to the acquisition by Insperity, Virtual Growth was the nation’s largest outsourced accounting service for small businesses.
Previous to Virtual Growth, Steve spent seven years working for Amnesty International USA. There he spent four years as Chief Financial Officer managing the organization’s 300% growth after U2, Bruce Springsteen and Peter Gabriel complete the Human Rights Now! tour and then honed his fundraising skills as its Director of Development, raising over $20M a year.
His time at Amnesty reinforced Steve’s life-long commitment to giving back to the community through charitable causes. He has been a dedicated board member of many nonprofit organizations, helping them with their finances and fundraising. As a result, non-profits now represent 35% of GrowthForce clients.
When he’s not immersed in helping his clients achieve growth, Steve strives to be a role model to his employees by having the proper work-life balance. Off the clock, Steve is often on the go with this active family, or can be found puttering around his yard in the Livable Forest of Kingwood, Texas, looking for ways to help his garden grow.

Martha brings more than 18 years of experience in a variety of industries to her role as Director of Marketing for GrowthForce. Her leadership and marketing knowledge are a compliment to her upbeat personality. From her business and consulting years, Martha brings a wealth of experience in adaptable and transformational marketing leadership. Her aim is to help educate business leaders on the significance of a strong financial management strategy, the importance of having a human capital strategy, and why you need both to be successful.
James Kahn is often the voice of reason - for good reason. His breadth and depth of accounting and finance expertise, combined with his systems knowledge and eight years of experience helping GrowthForce clients means that he has seen it all, and done it all.
Currently, in his capacity as Director of Finance, James identifies where GrowthForce can provide the greatest value to support our clients’ businesses. Additionally, serving as Controller, James is here to ensure each client's needs are well matched with our services.

Marsha is dedicated to ensuring each new client is equipped to receive the full potential from their accounting system and GrowthForce team. As Onboarding Director, Marsha’s focus is on the design, set up and integration of each client’s QuickBooks-centric financial system. During onboarding, Marsha creates a detailed documentation and workflow of the various accounting and reporting processes to guarantee a seamless hand-off to client services. Marsha has been with GrowthForce since the early days, and has built a solid reputation based on her extensive QuickBooks expertise, her deep knowledge of industry-specific key performance indicators, and her quick problem-solving and documentation abilities. Her vast industry and accounting software and applications experience comes from serving hundreds of clients in both onboarding and services over the last ten years.
When she’s not analyzing a client’s accounting system or researching new applications, Marsha enjoys practicing TaeKwonDo and boating at her parent’s lake house with her husband and two young sons.
